Happy Friday!
I've been wanting to share about my new love for a while. I'm pretty much completely obsessed with essential oils.
I
was interested in starting to use them in our home last fall
due to the fact that we were going to be experiencing our first winter
in London. Being around new germs and using public transportation on a
daily basis, I was fearful of our family being sick a lot. With the
arrival of spring, M would begin nursery and once again...here come the
germs! I wanted to be properly equipped with tools that did not
always include doctor visits, over the counter medications and
antibiotics. I wanted to keep our family healthy by using natural
holistic methods.
I'd say I began using oils a little naively and little did I know at the time, I was opening the door to a whole world of wonderful ways to support our health and wellness through Young Living products. I continue to be amazed by what I've learned and experienced using these oils.
Here are just a few reasons why I've fallen for this oily goodness.
M just started using some of the KidScents line formulated specifically for children and she loves them! The ones we especially love are her sleepy oil before bed and when she gets hurt, her owie oil.
We use our diffuser different times of the day and I select what oils to put into the diffuser based on what time of day it is or the feeling in the house. We often diffuse oils that balance our emotions with a toddler in the house!
In addition to the oils, there is an amazing variety of products that are available. The products are safe and offer natural alternatives to dangerous chemicals and toxins. I love that I am able to use these products in our home in order to promote overall wellness. Young Living makes cleaning products, products that replace common used items in your medicine cabinet, supplements, vitamins, personal care products and more!
Our sweet dog, Hyde, used to have some serious separation anxiety issues when we lived in California. So much so, leaving him alone had become an anxiety ridden ordeal for me as well. When he arrived in London by way of The Queen Mary, I began a new routine of diffusing Peace and Calming in our house a short time before we left him alone. After a few weeks of diffusing, he was able to be left alone without going crazy. I can happily report, we are able to leave him without ANY issues and diffusing is no longer necessary.
Young Living has a line of oils for pets although we used Peace and Calming successfully. Peace & Calming is not one of the oils specifically for pets but the one pictured above is.
Since I've loved beginning this journey, I am wanting to help my friends and family learn about these oils and how they might add some oily goodness into their lives. I've just began a new Instagram account so please follow along @essentiallykelley where I will share my journey and love of all things oily.
