Friday, Friday, Friday!

We have been enjoying some beautiful spring weather here in London- just perfect for my mom's visit from Colorado! Here's a bit of what we've been up to!
My mom and I took M to her first ballet, Swan Lake. It was specifically performed for children ages 3 and over by the English National Ballet School. There was a narrator telling the story along with the dancers so it could be followed by the audience's youngest. She loved it!

We attended the Ceremony of the Keys which is the traditional locking up of the Tower of London and has taken place each and every night, without fail, for at least the last 700 years. It is hard to get tickets for (its now booked through November) and was quite the experience! It sure was spooky being there at night! No photos were allowed during the ceremony but I was able to snap one with one of the fancy Yeoman Warders after the ceremony.

Our 9 year wedding anniversary was this week and we are celebrating on Saturday evening as Davis had a client dinner on our actual anniversary (April 21). It sure is hard to believe it has been 9 years since we did the whole destination wedding thing and got married in Costa Rica! We actually got engaged at the same hotel we had the wedding at the year before.

Went back and looked at a few of the pictures from the day and here are a few of my favorites.

My mom and I visited Sketch for deliciously funky afternoon tea. It is quite the culinary destination as 5 restaurants/bars are housed in the 18th century building including a Michelin starred restaurant.

We did not have much time to see the other parts of the building but the bathrooms sure were interesting and complete with a barnyard soundtrack as you used the facilities! I'd love to go back and check the rest out.

M started nursery on Wednesday and we've had a few emotional days around here. Day 1 went really well, day 2 was super rough and day 3 was smack dab in the middle. I'm emotionally spent from the experience as it is so incredibly hard leaving your little person when they are upset. She is doing remarkably well though- just the saying good-bye to mommy part is the trouble.

Hoping to share our adventures in Amsterdam last week very soon! Here is a sneak peak of the amazing tulips we saw while there!
