Holiday-ing in the Maldives Part II

A couple of our mornings were spent on the island of Jehunuhura, a minutes boat ride away from Kanuhura. To head there you simply head towards the north part of the island, find the boat and captain and hop aboard.

Jehunuhura is an uninhabited island made up of thatched umbrellas and cushioned sun loungers amongst mangrove trees and a gorgeous white sandy beach.

And it's surrounded by beautiful turquoise water as far as you can see.

Spending time on Jenunuhura makes you feel like you have your very own private island. And if you fancy it, you can walk on over to yet another island (seen to the right in the photo above) for even more of that Robinson Crusoe feeling.

When your stomach starts to growl on Jehunuhura, there is a small restaurant with a few tables but only available for lunch with a reservation.

Tried octopus that was not fried for the first time. There's a first and last time for everything.

And then had the most delicious crab burger. Oh and Kanuhura fries are some of the best I've ever had. If we let her, that's all M would have eaten.

Each night there were activities going on at the hotel and on one night we had to partake in the crab races. The island is crawling with crabs so it is no surprise there was some fierce competition.

Our unlucky #7 went down the hill and back up again. Not a chance.

Another one of our adventures during our time on Kanuhura was a sunset cruise.

We had some music, yummy snacks and cool beverages as we watched the sun set and searched for dolphins.

I've always loved dolphins and we hoped to see some...and boy did we ever.

I wanted M to take off the life vest for some photos but not a chance. Safety first my friends.

The sunset was beautiful!

Tiger made a great cruising buddy.

Back home at Kanuhura for a few more days.

Part three coming soon- our (actually the day before) Valentine's Day on Kanuhura.

Cheers!
