...we played tourist.
M and I headed to the Natural History Museum to see the Dinosaur exhibit. The museum itself is absolutely beautiful inside and out. It is free to enter so the lines can be very long so get there early. Certain exhibitions do need tickets so be sure to plan ahead if this is a stop on your list while visiting London.
The Natural History Museum is next to the Science Museum and across the street from the Victoria and Albert Museum, the world's largest museum of decorative arts and design. We are looking forward to checking out both of these museums soon.
All are wonderful to visit (and free) when you find yourself in London- with or without kids.

My pictures turned out less than stellar. I was holding M the whole time and she would not let me put her down. I cannot imagine why...these guys are not scary at all. I think she prefers her dinosaurs a little less real and G rated.
I had heard about a fountain at the Victoria and Albert Museum that kids could play in so when we were feeling a little toasty, we headed across the street to find it.
...we had our first real thunder and lightening storm and it was a good one! It was the first night I had to sleep with the windows and drapes open for air as it had been our warmest day yet. I had to quickly scramble to get the windows closed- it was raining inside. It was one of those storms that went directly over our house and the lightening was all around. I have to say I was a bit frightened by it and the serious amount of rain that came with it since we just moved from the land of always sunny and warm. Pretty sure there was hail at one point too. After the serious lightening passed over I snapped a few pics of the pitch black night sky lighting up. Thankfully, M slept right through it!
Here are more amazing pics of the lightening over London last night.
...we went to story time at the Chelsea Library.
...we put together M's water/sand table. I have to say it was not easy but we got it finished! She was a hugeish help.
...we made some flowers for Daddy to give him as a welcome home gift. He got onto an earlier flight so he arrives tonight instead of Saturday morning. Yipeee!
Overall, our week without daddy was pretty great and I won't dread the next trip as much. I have to admit, I am looking forward to a little alone time this weekend. Single parents. Serious respect.
Happy weekending!
Cheers!
Kelley
