Jellies and Wellies

So far I've been seriously impressed with the classes available for M here in London. There are SO many places to choose from but I've only filled up M, W, and F to keep two days a week for errands, lazy rainy days (I'm sure we will have PLENTY of those!), chores and hopefully future play dates with new friends. Today we had our first official class at Maggie and Rose and it did not disappoint.

We hopped on the bus just in time to stay dry from a considerably large rainstorm. The bus dropped us off right outside their door. How convenient.

We arrived early so we played a bit.

The class we are signed up for is Jellies and Wellies. This term we will dig, water, grow (& eat!) in the M&R garden. First up- harvesting carrots for our recipe.

I guess she's never seen a dirty carrot before!
Then we headed into the kitchen to start cooking.
We each made our own by measuring out the ingredients and stirring.

Then we planted carrot tops in colored sand to take home and watch the tops grow.

And finally we decorated our recipe cards.

Ta-da! Here is the finished product- I'd say the process was better than the recipe tasted for this first one.

After class we played some more and I chatted with another mum who warned me about the need for Vitamin D supplements in the winter. Oh great. BUT we exchanged email addresses and hopefully will have a play date on the schedule soon! Since I've started seriously missing my awesome friends back in LA LA Land I would love some here.

Then we headed home before the next rain shower.

We are both looking forward to next week!
