Daddy's Day Weekend

We celebrated Davis this weekend but the weather did not wow us like the report said it would. I am beginning to realize looking ahead at the weather report does us no good in London.

Saturday
We grabbed lunch at The Phene, one of London's best beer gardens according to Time Out Magazine. The food and drink were yummy and we were able to watch some amazing fly-overs (called a flypast here) by the Red Arrows and the Royal Air Force. At first we thought London was being invaded as it was quite a commotion but then realized it was the Trooping the Colour Ceremony celebrating the Queen's birthday. Her actual birthday is on April 21 (also our wedding anniversary) but she has the official celebration on a Saturday in June. Looks like it was a pretty fun celebration from these pictures and I think we will try to make it next year!

Then M took Davis out for a scoot and some gelato after her nap.
Daddy/daughter selfie.

Our nanny came Saturday night so we could have our first date night in London. We got all dressed up (Hello heels! I've missed you!) for dinner at Rasoi- a Michelin rated Indian restaurant. Seriously yummy. Then, we grabbed a pint at one of our local pubs to catch the beginning of the England World Cup Match. A perfect night!
Sunday
In typical Davis fashion, he made us breakfast. That pretty much sums up Davis- always doing things to make M and I smile. And let's face it, if I made breakfast it would have probably been cereal with a side of fruit.

We spent the day wandering gardens for Open Squares Weekend. There are tons of private gardens around London that open up for the weekend and have entertainment, food, music, etc. Normally they are closed to the public and only for the residents that live around or near the garden. They are beautiful spaces and I wish our house came along with a private garden.

A few of our gifts for Daddy.
We are pretty big fans of Peppa around here. I'm pretty sure M called me Mummy Pig last week....
You know those things you pin on Pinterest, but never get around to actually doing- I DID ONE!

A few British brews with some tie-riffic ties. Wait, TWO Pinterest pins- DONE!

And Davis finished his day with a massage at Bliss. Did I mention this place is around the corner?! I need to check it out ASAP.

Cheers!
Kelley

  1. Kelley, I love your blog! Sometimes it makes me laugh and other times I feel like crying ( like the Central Park picture ). Looks the Isinger family is enjoying all this adventure has to offer. Cheers!
