I could not be more happy to see you, Friday. With Davis gone for the week in the states and M and I both fighting respiratory infections, it's been a little rough around here!
A few months ago I planted the seed with Davis that I would love a family of
Peg and Plum dolls. I had seen them on the Instagram of one of the fabulous London
bloggers that I follow. He delivered them for my birthday pictured above on the beach in Croatia. I LOVE them! He sent our holiday photo from last year and she painted them so beautifully with such detail. If you are looking for a sweet gift for someone in your life- these are really special.
I helped throw a little "sprinkle" for my sweet friend
Erin as she is expecting her second little girl in about a month. Erin and I met through blogging. We were laughing about it at the party and it is pretty funny! It has been another friendship that I cannot imagine this ex-pat life without.
I loved putting it all together with the help of Erin's husband, Pete.
It was such a fun morning. I cannot wait to meet the little peanut and
see J as a big sister.
This week I went along with M's nursery trip to Holland Park. It was a beautiful autumn day and we
had the best time with her sweet teachers and classmates. I feel so
lucky to have her at such a caring, nurturing nursery! And M continues
to
love school!
And
then we met our friends, Aurelia and Caroline for lunch and returned to
play in Holland Park on such a beautiful autumn day. It's really not a
successful week unless these two play together.
Davis' dad and his wife, Gladys (Obie & Lita to M) arrived on Thursday and we are oh so
glad to have them visiting London again. Last time they were here, they
had driven across the U S of A with our dog, hopped on The Queen Mary
and sailed across that giant Atlantic Ocean. By the time they landed in
London a trip to Paris just the two of them and a trip to Prague just
Davis and I was all we really had time for. This time we are playing
tourist and showing them a good time. M has next week
off from nursery so she will get to spend a lot of time with them. After all, we used to live a 5 minute walk away in California so it's great to have them close for the 10 days.
Living in the UK has us missing certain things we cannot buy here so when anyone comes to visit, we request Annie's Cheddar Bunnies
and Mac & Cheese to fill up the extra space in their suitcase. Thanks to Daddy's return
today and Obie and Lita's arrival, we have an HUGE stock of them now
after being without them for a bit of time. Not exactly sure where we'll
put them all though!
Happy weekending! I hope you all have a fabulous one and get to enjoy this beautiful fall season wherever you may live.

I remember living as an expat in Australia and Dubai and loving when American friends and family came to visit and brought with them lots of food goodies that we couldn't get there - its the little things, right? So glad I found your blog - I miss the expat life and so Ill live vicariously through you now :)
ReplyDeleteHi Abby! Yes, I have a running list of items that I'd like visitors to bring with them- the little things are sometimes the most missed. I love that you've lived in Australia and Dubai. It's pretty incredible being an ex-pat! I wish everyone could have this experience once in their lives. :)
DeleteI can't imagine living without Annie's, haha! They make dairy free treats for my daughter that taste so much better than other brands!
ReplyDeleteIt's the worst especially having them in the house but feeling like I cannot eat them as they are my daughter's favorite! Love that they make dairy free, if only they'd start distributing to the UK!
Deleteoh, that feeling when your husband returns from a trip is unlike any other! so glad davis is home and so fun to have visitors :) i had such a great time at my sprinkle--you threw a lovely party. thank you! see you this weekend, friend! xo
ReplyDeleteYes, a huge sigh of relief that we made it! ;) xo
DeleteHappy Friday! That sprinkle shower looks so sweet! And I love that you ask for mac and cheese from the states lol
ReplyDeleteI know! It's funny because it's the little things that remind us of home. It's as much of a comfort for me too! :)
DeleteM all bundled up is my FAVORITE. I just want to squeeze her and then steal her wardrobe!
ReplyDeleteAnd lex refuses to eat cheddar bunnies. How lame is she?!
And you all sans jackets is making me miss my year round flip flop toes. I'm not sure I've ever met a child that does not eat Annie's! Lex is a rare breed.
