Adventures in Sunny California

As I sit here in a cafe writing this while M is in nursery, I am missing that sweet warm California sun. Not gonna lie. The weather in CA is pretty amazing but at the same time, going "home" to Los Angeles for the first time since moving across the pond made me realize how much I love living in London. Sure I miss our friends and their sweet kiddos something fierce but after coming back to London, it feels so great to confidently know this is where we are supposed to be.

And that feels pretty great.

Although one of the not-so-fun adventures included losing my nicely unlocked extra iphone that I use in the states somewhere between the airplane and our taxi back into London. And as I am going through my photos of California, I am missing quite a few of our time with friends. And that kills me. I hate that I lost the photos. The phone does not matter, it's the photos. Dang it. (So if your beautiful face is missing from this post, you know why...)

But anyway...

We saw as many of our friends as humanly possible and I drove myself a wee-bit crazy trying to fit it all in. Davis and I lived in Los Angeles for 8 years so the friends we visited included teaching friends, college friends, high school friends, neighborhood friends and mommy and me class friends.

Over a year has gone by since seeing these friends. A lot has changed but in many ways, it's as if no time has passed at all. Certain friends come in and out of your life where others you know will always be there.

One afternoon we had a little BBQ for anyone who could come by the house we rented.

Davis' aunt Linda and Mark came down from San Francisco for the BBQ and brunch the next day. Love that they made the trip down to see us and catch up!

And of course we spent a bit of time at the beach watching the sunset.

Our time was jam-packed seeing friends so there was no time for Disneyland this time around but the happiest of news is that we are heading to the states for Thanksgiving! We had not really intended on it but a few things fell into place and we are so excited to be making the trip to Los Angeles for the beloved American holiday. Hoping to have some of my family join us for a bit since it's much easier (and cheaper!) to get to California from Colorado.

And if I have anything to do with it, our November trip will include some time at Disneyland!
